![]() The Tokyo Branch was opened in 1974. The Branch specialises in corporate and institutional banking, foreign currency deposits and overseas remittances. The Group traces its history to the establishment of Lloyds Bank in England in 1765. Total assets of the Group at the end of 2007 stood at £353 billion with shareholders funds of £12.1 billion. In 2007 profits before tax were £4.0 billion. The 1995 amalgamation of Lloyds Bank and TSB created a bank with the largest network in the UK at over 2,000 branches. Internationally the Group operates offices in over 15 countries. The Bank has a long term deposit rating of Aaa by Moody’s.
